Holiday break from school is just around the corner! While the kids get excited about spending their days at home, a lot of parents are stressing out about who will watch them, because there is no winter break from work.
An exciting opportunity to get your child interested in coding is also just around the corner, if you’re in the Chicago area. We’ve rounded up the top one-week-long winter break coding classes and camps that will take the stress off you and keep your child’s brain working.

Power Up Tech Academy
Beginner and advanced coders are welcome to join the Power Up Tech Academy’s winter break coding camp. The camp is geared toward grades K-8 and you can choose either am or pm classes (or both!). Classes offered include early coding through stories & play, Minecraft modding, beginner coding, and experienced coders camp. Prices start at $49 per half day.
Kids STEM Studio
The Kids STEM Studio is a place where kids can explore science, technology, engineering, and math with hands-on learning and activities. Kids STEM Studio offers day-off from school, summer, winter, and spring break camps. Each camp includes science, engineering, robot building, digital art camps, and coding application development. Kids must be at least five years old to attend.
The Ultimate Adventure camp, offered by Digital Adventures, teaches kids how to construct robots, build mobile applications and websites, design video games, and more. Half day and full day options are available starting at $125 per day. Registration is now open for kids 1st-8th grade for Thanksgiving break camp at both Chicago locations.
Located in Lincoln Park, Codeverse offers courses in game development, 3D creation, robotics, light and sounds, and a personal project at the end of the camp. Codeverse has camps designed for two separate age groups: 2-6 and 6+. Classes run from 9 am to 3 pm each day and pricing starts at $600 for the week.
iD Tech has multiple locations for their coding camps in the Chicago area. Programs are for ages 6-18 and include app development, game design, robotics, web design, 3D modeling/printing, and film/video. Tuition starts at $449 for the week and you can choose between am, pm or full day camp.
